Great Thermal Results

HITS Thermal was fantastic this year.  The horses and riders performed well (including Caroline Robbins and her horse, Stir It Up, pictured above, who were 2nd-half circuit reserve champs in the Equitation 11 & Under division), everyone came home with lots of pretty ribbons and awards, we bought lovely new horses and found great homes for a few sale horses, and most importantly – the Chestnut Hill team had fun.  Please take a moment to check out the results on our website at: https://www.chestnuthillca.com/results.shtml

Mental Skills Clinic with Tonya Johnston

Chestnut Hill will host a one-day clinic with Mental Skills coach, Tonya Johnston on Saturday. Tonya teaches performance strategies to help riders effectively accomplish the skills that the trainers have been working to instill. Beverly has seen the value of Tonya’s work for many years, and encourages riders to continue their work with Tonya on a one-to-one basis over the course of the season.

SOLD: Corralino

Congratulations to trainer Peter Breakwell on the purchase of Madison Bradshaw’s horse, Corralino (pictured above at the 2011 Young Rider Championships, and below in a 1.75 m five-bar class at last year’s Sacramento show) for his student.  Look for more from this lovely horse and his new owner in the jumper ring in 2012!

Welcome new client!

We are delighted to welcome new client Selena Weinstock and her mount, Celtic King, a nine year-old Irish Sport horse that Selena imported from Ireland as a three year-0ld!  Selena and King compete in three-day eventing, and are moving up to the Preliminary level this year, but have come to Chestnut Hill for a few months to work on their show jumping.   Interestingly, Selena started riding with Beverly at the tender age of eight, and jumped her first jump on retired lesson pony, Pacheco (pictured below)!  Welcome Selena and King (and kudos Pacheco)!

New Horse! Kingas Star

Congratulations to Caroline Robbins on the purchase of Kingas Star, a nine year-old, 15.3 hand Holsteiner gelding.  Look for these two in the Children’s Hunter and Equitation rings this year.  A big thank you to Wendy Brownlee of Brownlee Equestrians of Reno, NV.  Good luck to Caroline and Kingas!

New horse: Arezzo

Congratulations to Kristin Loewenthal on the purchase of “Arezzo,” a six year-old Dutch gelding.  A big thank you to Rachel and Jeff Fields of Sandhaven Farm for this lovely youngster.  Look for Kris and “Ari” in the meter jumpers this season!  (Pictured above: Ari, assistant trainer John Wohr, and Kris in the saddle.)  Good luck to this lovely new duo!

Another new client!

It’s been busy around the barn over the last few weeks with the move and several new clients and horses!  We are so very pleased to welcome rider Madison Bradshaw to the barn!  Madison brought along her two jumpers – Katina 12 and Corralino.  Look for them in the high junior and Grand Prix rings this year.  Madison will also be competing in the Young Rider trials.  Not to be overlooked is Flynn (pictured above), Madison’s five year-old baby that she is bringing along and who shows great promise.  Welcome all!

We are moving to Alder Lane Farm

Chestnut Hill is pleased to announce that we will be moving to Alder Lane Farm on November 15th.  This world-class facility has recently been renovated to the highest standards and is meticulously maintained.  All four barns are furnished with very large box stalls, each with cushioned mats.  Horses are turned out daily in large paddocks.  The facility offers three rings, each equipped with superior footing that assures a dust-free environment, a watering system, and competition quality jumps.  The Grand Prix arena helps ensure the horses are prepared on competition quality courses. During inclement weather, Alder Lane Farm has a large, fully enclosed indoor arena.  Please come check us out after the 15th!
